An 8-week group for those who feel depleted from taking on others' energy and emotions, who have been told they are “too sensitive” or have been labelled “people pleasers,” and for those who are ready to reclaim energy and power they have given away.

 
 

Learn How to be an Empowered Empath

As an empath, you are a part of the super sensitives. You are a sponge for the emotions and energies that are constantly swirling around you. You tend to absorb the feelings of others and if you don’t know any better, you often take on those emotions as our own. This makes it difficult to know what you are actually feeling.

The onslaught of emotional information from the people around you can send you into a vicious cycle of caretaking and rescuing. If the people around you are in distress, then so are you.

This is why empaths are almost always people pleasers. You work to help everyone else get comfortable so that you can be comfortable. You can’t be happy until everyone around you is happy.

This is exhausting and overwhelming. Even worse, it keeps you disconnected from your own true feelings, needs, and desires. You are living for everyone else, and you have unknowingly abandoned yourself.

 Why it’s important to learn this type of self care:

One of the reasons we so easily absorb the emotions of others is because we are not fully present in our own body or in our own physical or emotional experience. There is an energetic vacuum that forms in our emotional energy center allowing other people’s emotions to rush in and take over.

The symptoms of this can include agitation, depletion, overwhelm, overstimulation, depression, digestive issues, migraines, hormone imbalances, allergies, or auto-immune issues, to name a few.

This pattern of taking on other people’s emotions or energy may have started in childhood as a defense mechanism. If you grew up in an unsafe or chaotic environment, or if it had unclear boundaries, projected emotions, or no feeling of belonging, you may have leaned into your empathic ability to try to detect when danger was coming and keep yourself safe.

The importance of breaking this pattern is about learning how to feel in control of your emotions and not be at the mercy of what others are feeling. When you learn how to fully inhabit your body and energy system, you can tune into others when you choose to without feeling overwhelmed or depleted.

You can learn to use this gift as a way to gain insight into the deeper meaning of your life, your relationships, and your own emotions.

  • Group is 2.5-Hours in duration, meets weekly and will run until December 21st (skipping the week of Thanksgiving).

  • Limited to 6 participants.

  • This is a closed group, no drop ins.

  • Participants will receive a take home package with handouts, at home activities to practice, a journal and a card deck of affirmations and questions to enhance your self care routine.

Hi there. I’m Scott. Glad to meet you here.

I am a Reiki Master and Holistic Practitioner at The Path Wellness Center. I am also an empath. For years I struggled with an overwhelm of feelings and emotions in my daily life…only they weren’t mine. I was a sponge for any emotions people were expressing around me. In some ways this was a gift, however, often I would find myself feeling emotions for no reason, wondering why I was so angry or sad.

Luckily, I have discovered many effective resources and tools to help me discern between my own emotions and the emotions of others. I’ve also learned energetic and emotional hygiene: How to ground and clear myself from the energy and emotions of others.

I’m excited to share these techniques with you. As empaths, we have a powerful gift, but if we don't have the ability to manage that gift, it can feel like a curse. I look forward to giving you an opportunity to harness your own empathic abilities, and maybe even come to love them.

Are there any prerequisites or requirements for this group?

No, these skills and techniques can be learned by anyone. This group is open to everyone, no matter your experiences or where you are on your path to healing. The only thing needed is an open mind and a desire to learn and grow, along with the desire to help others in the pursuit of their own growth and learning.

What’s the cost of a self care/support group compared to therapy or coaching?

This group consists of a total of 20 hours worth of teachings, practice, processing and support at the cost of under $30 per hour. The cost of therapy or coaching is between $175-200 per hour depending on the provider. Duration and frequency are also dependent on your goals and issues you bring into session and therefore can influence the cost.

What issues can this group help me with?

This group is designed to help with emotional overwhelm and energetic burnout, as well as boundary setting and protecting our emotional and energetic fields. This group is also a space to connect with other empaths in your community and feel supported by others who walk a similar path.

How is the group structured?

This group meets weekly for 2.5 hours with a 10-15 minute break. The format of each group includes discussion, Q&A, and experiential exercises. Your facilitator will share energy system and hygiene knowledge, tools, skills, and suggestions for enhancing your self care. Each week there will be a time for some personal reflection and an open forum for individualized questions and support from your facilitator and fellow empaths.

Will I get to take home anything?

Yes! We provide our participants with take home handouts, worksheets and other goodies to help you implement these learnings on your own at home.

Do I have to register for this workshop?

Yes, preregistration is required due to high demand and limited space. Please click the button below to register in advance.

Do we need to bring anything?

You are not required to bring anything but we recommend bringing whatever will make you comfortable as it is a 2.5-hour session. Coffee, water and tea will be provided and all necessary materials will be provided for you.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing. Each week you will do an experiential exercise in which you may be seated on the floor, with the goal of feeling grounded and relaxed, so please dress appropriately. Also, shoes that are easy to remove are recommended.
